In addition to working with book agents, we are open to unsolicited queries. We only publish scholarly nonfiction works by academic writers or high-level experts.
We look for books that address critical issues in fields such as technology, economics, social sciences, the arts, current affairs, science, and history.
Query letters should describe the book, explain why it’s important to the target audience, and outline the author’s credentials. Keep the query to 500 words or less, with the text embedded in an email (no attachments). Send it to glenn@upriverpress.com.
We typically respond within a week. If we are interested, we will usually request a full book proposal. If you don’t hear from us, it means that (unfortunately) we’re not interested in your book. We reject all AI generated content (see our policy here).
